The Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering Technology program prepares students to meet the demands of our increasingly automated society, providing expertise in sensors and calibration, programmable logic controllers, process troubleshooting, robotics and electrical power. Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering Technology graduates are familiar with instrumentation, discrete and analog control systems, microcontrollers, data collection and transfer and networking. They design, plan, research, evaluate, test and implement electrical and electromechanical systems that span the biomedical, chemical, civil, cyber, electrical, industrial, mechanical and nanosystems disciplines.
A few years after graduation, Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering Technology program graduates will…
1. Be employed and applying engineering technology principles in technical or managerial roles, performing design, manufacturing, marketing, operations, education, or maintenance tasks within fields closely related to measurement, controls, robotics, or automation engineering technology.
2. Be advancing in their careers based on their strengths in technical knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, communication skills, awareness of professional, ethical and societal responsibilities, and dedication to life-long learning.
