Music Minor

Requirements for a Minor in Music

The Music Minor program is designed for qualified students who have a strong interest in music as a secondary subject. Students desiring to pursue a music minor must meet with a Music Department advisor for specific details and to fill out appropriate paperwork. The minor consists of 21 hours as follows:

• MUAP 100: General Recital 0 Semester Credit Hours
• MUTH 100: Rudiments of Music Theory 0 Semester Credit Hours
• MUTH 101: Music Theory I 3 Semester Credit Hours
• MUTH 102: Music Theory II 3 Semester Credit Hours
• MUEN 2XX: Ensemble (x3) 3 Semester Credit Hours
• MUPV 1XX: Applied Private Lessons (same instrument) 3 Semester Credit Hours
• MUGN 200: Digital Musicianship 2 Semester Credit Hours
• Music Courses (consult advisor) 7 Semester Credit Hours

Grade Requirement for Minor

Note:  A student must earn a grade of “C” or better in each course applied toward meeting the requirement of a minor.
