Business Administration Curriculum (BS)
The Business Administration major is designed for students who wish to obtain broad business skills and knowledge, but who do not wish to specialize in one specific area of emphasis. The curriculum exposes students to core courses across all of the business disciplines, providing perspective in the theories and principles of accounting, finance, marketing, economics, management, quantitative analysis and information systems in a global environment. In addition, Business Administration majors are provided flexibility to select additional coursework to achieve personal and professional career goals.
Program Objectives:
- Business Administration majors will possess broad knowledge in the key areas of accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management, marketing QA and ethical decision-making in the global business environment.
- Business Administration majors demonstrate preparedeness for entry level positions in a variety of industries.
- Business Administration majors will comprehend the drivers of overall company performance.
Program Requirements
A grade of “C” or better must be earned in all courses designated with **.
Humanities (GER)
- COMM 101: Principles of Communication Studies 3 Semester Credit Hours
- Select two Humanities (GER) courses from the following disciplines: Literature, Foreign Languages, History, Classical Studies, Communications, Philosophy, Religious Studies, or Interdisciplinary. NOTE: some of these subject matter disciplines may not be offered at Louisiana Tech University. 6 Semester Credit Hours
Social/Behavioral Sciences (GER)
Natural Sciences (GER)
- Select one Biology (BISC) class (3 semester hours) AND
- Select one Physical Science class (3 semester hours)
- Select two Physical Science classes (6 semester hours) - must be in same discipline
