Requirements for Admission
Students seeking admission to a graduate program in the College of Applied and Natural Sciences are required to have an earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Unconditional admission in the master’s program in Biology requires a minimum GPA of 3.00; conditional admission requires a minimum GPA of 2.50. A GRE score is not required for admission.
Students admitted to all graduate programs in the College of Applied and Natural Sciences will have their transcripts reviewed for previous course work completed. Students who lack necessary prerequisite course work may be required to satisfy deficiencies in the early stage of their graduate program.

- BISC 502: Research Methods in Bio Sciences 3 Semester Credit Hours
- BISC 535: Current Topics in Bio Sciences 1 (4) Semester Credit Hours (Mandatory for course to be taken 3 times)
- BISC 568: Graduate Biostatistics 3 Semester Credit Hours
- BISC 570: Graduate Bioethics 3 Semester Credit Hours

Total Semester Hours = 36 * A minimum of six credits of BISC electives must come from the following list of courses which include a laboratory component: BISC 508 , BISC 517 , BISC 526 , BISC 530 , BISC 591 , BISC 592 .
* A minimum of six credits of BISC electives must come from the following list of courses which include a significant writing component: BISC 512 , BISC 514 , BISC 522 , BISC 526 , BISC 562 , BISC 563 , BISC 564 , BISC 566 .
Additional courses may be added to the two lists above (courses with a laboratory or a significant writing component) as new graduate BISC courses become availbable.
