Requirements for a Minor

A minor in English consists of 21 semester hours of English courses.

The plan of study must include

ENGL 101: Freshman Composition I 3 Semester Credit Hours
ENGL 102: Freshman Composition II 3 Semester Credit Hours
ENGL 210: Introduction To British Literature, Beginnings To Romantic Era 3 Semester Credit Hours or
ENGL 211: Introduction To British Literature, Romantic Era To The Present 3 Semester Credit Hours
ENGL 212: Intro To American Literature 3 Semester Credit Hours
ENGL 415: Shakespeare 3 Semester Credit Hours
6 additional 300/400-level semester hours of English

Note(s):

Courses above the 100-level used for a Minor in Technical Writing cannot be used for a Minor in English.

Grade Requirement for Minor

Note: A student must earn a grade of “C” or better in each course applied toward meeting the requirement of a minor.
