Management – Sustainable Supply Chain Management Curriculum (BS)

Sustainable Supply Chain Management prepares students to manage and coordinate all logistical functions in an enterprise, ranging from acquisitions to receiving and handling through internal allocations of resources to operations units to the handling and delivery of output. The focus on sustainability is the key distinction of this program. A sustainable supply chain has the capability of meeting current and future customer demands through the cultivation, reuse and repurposing of resources, the lifeblood of any organization.

Program Objectives

  1. Students will understand distinctive competencies and the strategic implications of supply chain management (SCM).
  2. Students will understand the fundamentals of aggregate planning, master scheduling, and material requirements planning.
  3. Students will understand the relationships between and be able to effectively manage inventory costs.
  4. Students will understand of the strategic role of purchasing, the process utilized to acquire material and services, and have a framework to analyze buyer-supplier relationships.
  5. Students will understand, at an individual and systemic level, how components of the logistics system fit together in support of a firm’s strategy.
  6. Students will understand the basic concepts and techniques associated with LEAN and Quality Management.

Program Requirements


A grade of “C” or better must be earned in all management courses.
