The Sport and Exercise Psychology concentration is designed for individuals whose primary interest lies in the influence of psychological variables on motor performance and the influence of physical activity participation on psychological phenomena. This concentration is appropriate for students who have a desire to work in applied mental training settings, community health and outreach, coaching, or other physical activity related fields. Additionally, students who pursue this degree will be prepared for doctoral studies. This concentration has a 9-hour core, 6-hour Foundational courses, 9-hour Specialization courses, 3-6 hours of research/internship, and 6-9 hours of approved electives for a total of 36 required hours.
