Environmental Sustainability, Undergraduate Certificate

The 18-hour undergraduate certificate in environmental sustainability helps to develop students who understand the interconnectedness of environmental, economic, and social systems at local, regional, and global scales. Students will gain competencies which will allow them to apply sustainable practices within their own discipline. The knowledge acquired can also be applied throughout students’ careers, enabling them to support businesses, communities, and governments in efforts to achieve sustainability goals while also tackling some of the world’s greatest environmental, economic, and social challenges.

Courses

Most courses are offered on-site; some courses are offered with an online delivery option. This list is not comprehensive, as some courses that are not included here may not be consistently offered or have prerequisites that limit enrollment to specific majors.

Together, these should cover ecological, social, and economic sustainability (at least 6 hours at 300-level or higher; a single course cannot be used to fulfill more than one competency).
