Double Degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics
If your primary degree and major is Electrical Engineering, the following changes to the Physics curriculum will allow you to obtain a second degree with a major in Physics: - Substitute ENGR 1222 for PHYS 1021 and PHYS 1031 (i.e. project-based freshman design course);
- Add PHYS 2611 and PHYS 2621 sophomore labs not required in the ELEN curriculum;
- Substitute ENGR 2223 for PHYS 3073 ;
- Substitute ELEN 4113 , for PHYS 4063 and PHYS 4073 ;
- Substitute ELEN 2233 for PHYS 4081 and PHYS 4091 ;
- Substitute ELEN courses for PHYS directed electives, as long as the electives include one computational course;
- Student can concurrently enroll in PHYS 4351 with Senior Design. Senior design project can count toward PHYS 4351 research requirement if turned in to completely satisfy course requirements of PHYS 4351 .
Total additional requirements are 30 semester credit hours (PHYS 3043 , PHYS 4223 , PHYS 4233 , PHYS 4163 , PHYS 4173 , PHYS 4181 , PHYS 4191 , PHYS 4243 , plus sophomore labs, plus PHYS 4351 which can be concurrent with senior design) to add a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Physics. |
